Universal Mixed Martial Arts

…I’ve trained alongside Guro Ramon in Lodi (at the Bakbakan NAHQ, New Jersey, USA), quite a few years ago!

Anyway–even back then, he both knew (and knows) his stuff, and he’s a really good man! I’d not hesitate to train with him myself, and would recommend him anytime!

My son and I joined Universal Mixed Matial Arts almost a year ago. I signed up for the women’s self-defense program. My son was a sponge from the beginning.  Master Fred Garcia has helped him develop his MMA-Sibukan skills at an alarming rate.  The club also enabled him to be instructed by professionals in other arts…judo, muay thai,  karate, grappling, boxing, arnis etc. and unexpected visits with some hands on training from Carlos Newton.  What a great mix of talent!

Master Fred is an intelligent, patient and kind man who teaches his awesome skills with enthusiasm.  He displays an appreciation for what everyone has to offer.  His students demonstrate a profound respect for all the instructors and each other.

Since joining, my son shows more self-discipline, is becoming a health-nut and understands his need to work out to alleviate stress.  He is stronger mentally and physically and is always eager to attend classes.

Females…few of us are taught the practical self-defense skills that men learn.  Imagine the horrible…having to submit to an attacker because we haven’t had the ability to get out of being pinned to the ground, choked from behind etc.

Through Master Fred and those other instructors who stepped in to show us still more, I now possess the knowledge and skills required to overcome an attack.  It’s a feeling of empowerment.  An ”insurance” !

Through this past year, my son and I have also developed a special bonding.  He really enjoys his mother being the student for a change.

I recommend Universal MMA classes to anyone who wants to learn the tried and tested martial arts training of Master Fred and his associates.

Many thanks to them all.

It is an honor and a privilege to have Master Fred Garcia as my mentor and friend. I have known Master Fred Garcia since 2003. He came to one of my clinic that I organize for my Judo instructor. Mr. Garcia is a very humble person and patient instructor. He never lets his credential or fight records precede him. He wins your respect by gently guiding you and letting his action do the talking. One of the reasons Mr. Garcia is my mentor is that he is a successful family oriented architect, entrepreneur, father, husband, and martial artist/coach. I recommend Fred to anyone who wants practical and effective martial arts training from a very experience and mature martial art instructor. Mr. Garcia is a modern day warrior and he embodied the code of Bushido. I look forward to many years of mentorship and friendship from Master Fred Garcia

I would like to thank you and your school for participating in the Grappling and Tri Combat portions of the Kyokushin Karate Championships this weekend. Alim, Jeremie, Anthony, David, Majid, Pedram and Shahram performed very well. I had the opportunity to Judge the Tri Combat fighters and Alim in the Grappling portion and can safely say you are doing a very good job training these fine young men.

Universal Mixed Martial arts is a unique Martial Arts organization. Everybody treats you with respect, coaches and trainers will train you to the best of their abilities, one on one training if need be, and it’s simply is like a big family. No matter which art you decide to train in, veteran students and trainers/masters will make you feel welcome and will make you want to improve your skills. It will not just teach you to be tough physically, it will also make you tough mentally.

I highly recommend this gym, and I assure you that you will not be disappointed. Also, this will be very beneficial for the kids, because it will mold their minds and teach them to be hard workers and to never give up. These traits can be applied to school and, eventually, at work.

Gym itself has a fighting ring, heavy bags, and wall to wall foam flooring.Large roll out mat for grappling/throwing on. Nothing fancy, but real hardcore training,as good as it gets!!!!!

Instructors are very knowledgable & Champion Fighters in their Arts!

Teachers/Members are one big family, & have great respect towards each others.
Everyone is taught that Martial Arts is strictly for self defence purposes only.

You can feel the comradeship & friendliness of Students & Instructors alike.

Great family oriented gym.

“To Whom it may concern…

It is written, that there are three noble recreations: horsemanship, swordsmanship and wrestling…
I suppose that the wrestling world is familiar with the ancient and rich Persian grappling heritage…the country that gave us the “Indian” Club and many grappling innovations over the centuries…
now–the MMA world needs to pay heed to the contributions of Iranian Judo Champion, Mohammed Khorrami…brought to my attention by Mong Phu of Fusion MMA… I like Mohammed’s teaching style…reminds me, somewhat, of Igor Yakimov’s.

guys, this is the good stuff…get the DVD’s!…your competitors probably already have…it’s not too late!…

Sincerely,
